Legal
Privacy Policy for LegacyQR
Effective as of August 24, 2026
This Policy applies to LegacyQR at https://www.legacy-qr.net. Use of the Platform is also governed by our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who we are
LegacyQR (“we”, “us”) operates the website at https://www.legacy-qr.net from Quebec, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use our memorial pages, accounts, shop, and related services.
This Policy is separate from our Terms and Conditions. The Terms cover use of the Platform; this Policy covers personal information.
2. Information we collect
Account details you provide: name, email, phone, date of birth, mailing address, and optional profile photo.
Memorial content you upload or type: names, dates, biographies, stories, photographs, video, audio, family details, guestbook settings, and visitor passwords you choose.
Visitor contributions: guestbook messages and related names or emails you or a visitor submit.
Orders and payments: product choice, shipping address, and payment status. Card numbers are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
Technical data: cookies needed to keep you signed in, and basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) used for security and operation of the site.
3. How we use information
We use this information to create and host memorials; process QR sticker and plate orders; authenticate accounts; send signup and password-reset emails; provide customer support; improve and secure the Platform; and meet legal, tax, and accounting duties.
Optional AI writing help uses the text you submit for a draft biography. Do not include sensitive information you do not want processed for that purpose.
4. Memorial privacy
Every memorial starts as a private draft. Buying a QR sticker or plate does not publish the page. You may keep a draft, lock a published memorial with a visitor password, or open it to the public. Guestbook messages can wait for your approval.
When you publish a memorial as public, anyone with the link or QR code can view that content. Search engines may index public pages. See the Terms and Conditions for more on public QR access.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Platform, including hosting and database (Convex), website hosting (Vercel), payments (Stripe), transactional email (Resend), and optional AI drafting (OpenAI).
Those providers process information on our instructions. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the Platform, or to respond to a valid legal request.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and, on preview environments, to remember site access. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. How long we keep information
Account and memorial data is kept while the account is active and the memorial is hosted. You may archive a memorial (hidden, recoverable) and later permanently delete it from the editor.
Order and billing records may be kept as required for tax, shipping, and legal purposes even after an account is closed.
8. Your rights and account deletion
Depending on where you live (including Quebec and the rest of Canada), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you.
To delete your account and personal data, email us from the address on the account. We will confirm it is you, then remove login credentials, profile details, and account photo. Memorials you still own should be archived or permanently deleted first if you do not want them to remain hosted. Some order records may be retained where the law requires it.
Public content that was already copied, indexed, or shared by others cannot always be removed from the internet.
9. Children
The Platform is intended for adults creating memorials for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for their own accounts.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
